It is always a worrying time when our pets need surgery.
That’s why we invest in the best facilities and training for our vets and nurses, to ensure that if your pet does come in for a procedure, they’re in safe hands.
All of our practices have modern surgical theatres and comfortable spaces for recovery, and we use the most current anaesthesia and pain relief, meaning your pet will have personalised treatment and wake up calmly in the care of our nursing team.
Advanced surgical procedures
We have vets with many years of experience carrying out complex surgical procedures, including referrals from other practices.
Visiting specialists use our fantastic facilities, which allows us to offer our clients a range of advanced services.
We have laparoscopic equipment, allowing us to perform keyhole surgery for a range of conditions, most regularly in spaying. Laparoscopic surgery offers improved recovery times for pets, and is less invasive due to smaller wound size.
It is important to talk to your vet and nurses to make sure you know exactly what care your pet needs after an operation.
You’ll need to know about any medication they’ll require, how soon after the procedure they can eat and exercise, and whether a protective collar or vest will be needed to protect any wounds.
It is normal for your pet to be sleepy or out of sorts on the day of the surgery, and you should allow for them to be comfortable and quiet while they recover.
Usually they will be feeling better by the next day but we do advise that you allow them to take it easy for a few days.
