Why we’re independent
Why are Pennard Vets an independent practice?
We’re employee-owned – which means we’re independent and staying that way.
When we became employee-owned in 2021, we were making a commitment that our practice would stay independent for the long term.
Being employee owned means that the majority of our practice is owned by an employee ownership trust (EOT), held on the behalf of our employees.
This gives our team a stake in our practice and, with a key undertaking of the EOT being to ensure the practice is run with the interests of future employees in mind as well as current, means we will be independent and employee owned for many years to come.
Matt Flann, Caroline Collins and Andy Green – all vets who many of our clients have known for years – took the decision to transition our practice into employee ownership to protect our independence for the long term.
Our Pledge
“We pledge to do what is right for you, in the right way and at the right time in a sustainable way. We will run the practice with you, your pet and our team in mind, whilst ensuring your voice is heard and listened to. We will work with you to deliver the best progressive veterinary care to your pets, support our local community and promote well-being in our people and the planet.”
Caroline, Matt and Andy
What does our independent status mean for our clients?
By choosing to retain our practice’s future independence, we can make long term decisions, using our ethos and values to steer us in providing the very best care for you and your pet.
This has real benefits for our clients.
We’re breaking with decades of veterinary tradition to make as many of our prices as possible fixed – and we’re dedicated to continuing to look at how we can make this area of our practice as transparent and easy to understand as possible.
We truly believe in the value of our Pet Health Club, which includes unlimited veterinary consultations, allowing our team to build deeper, longer-lasting partnerships with you and your pet.
And we empower our team to take ownership of their careers and the service they deliver – every team member you meet in our practice is an employee owner with not just a passion for providing the best care, but a genuine stake in ensuring you leave happy.
How we aim to continue delivering the highest standards for you and your pets
We pride ourselves on doing things differently, and it’s important we use our innovative spirit to continue improving our service for you and your pet.
All of this means that we care very deeply what our clients think of us and why we’re particularly proud of our 1,500 Google reviews with an average rating of 4.8.
A massive thank you to all of our clients, and our employee owners look forward to welcoming you to one of our independent veterinary practices soon.

What people say about us
Simply the very best Vets. They have always been there for us in both happy (new puppy) and sad (palliative care) times 24/7. Kind, caring and they get to know owners and their pets. You always get a warm welcome from the whole team.
Pennard Vets are lovely. They treat your beloved pets as if they are their own. Staff are all patient, kind and understanding of the crazy love we have for our fur babies. We’ve been going here for eight years and I wouldn’t dream of taking our lil girlie anywhere else.

Staff are lovely and Ralph my dog is always so excited to visit – especially if he is due to see Amanda! She is fab with him and He clearly loves her. Highly recommend the Langley Park branch.
