Our Maidstone practice joined the Pennard family in 2015 and is a friendly local practice close to central Maidstone, offering consulting, diagnostics and a wide range of complex surgery on-site. Our team has further qualifications in medicine and feline ultrasound, and we were one of the first practices in the country to be recognised as a Cat Friendly Clinic by the International Society for Feline Medicine.
Our practice has been the happy home to Fred, our ginger cat, for over 10 years, and when our team aren’t doting on him you may find them out and about with their pets at the lovely Mote Park and Teston Park.

Appointments are 15 minutes long and take place in private consultation rooms.

Yes – we accept pet insurance claims and recommend all owners keep their pets insured.
Do you offer 24‑hour emergency care?
Out‑of‑hours emergencies are handled at our Sevenoaks site. Please call Sevenoaks on 01732 452 344 if you need our team when our practice isn’t open.

Many people enjoy caring for and the company of exotic pets, from “small furries” such as rabbits and ferrets to birds, fish and reptiles – and we’re here to help you keep them happy and healthy.
Most dogs are able to empty their anal glands by themselves with no problems. However, when something does go wrong, owners soon know about it! Fortunately, all you need is an appointment with one of our fabulous nurses who can do the procedure for you.
If your pet is suffering from clinical problems that are difficult to diagnose, our vets may use a range of techniques to reach a diagnosis, such as blood tests, radiographs, ultrasound or endoscopy, which are collectively known as internal medicine.
Our vets strongly believe that protection with vaccination is crucial to protect your pets. However, this is based on what your pet needs for their lifestyle. We will ask questions to determine your pet’s risk factor and only recommend the necessary vaccinations for them.
Travelling abroad with your pet can be exciting, and in many instances of course, necessary. But the fact is that there are lots of things to check off to make sure your pet is both safe and legally compliant before you start your journey.
It is always a worrying time when our pets need surgery. That’s why we invest in the best facilities and training for our vets and nurses, to ensure that if your pet does come in for a procedure, they’re in safe hands.
It’s important to remember that age itself is not a disease – disease comes with age. But we do have to acknowledge that as our pets reach their golden years, though they may still be young at heart, we need to be more proactive in helping them stay fit and healthy.

Pets of all species can need help with their nails from time to time during their lives – and keeping their nails in good condition can be crucial for their health and wellbeing.
Arthritis and mobility clinics
Just like with humans, injuries can happen, and as pets get older they can find it harder to get around, as joints start to creak and the body struggles to do things it did when it was younger.
Microchipping is the easiest and most effective way to ensure that your pet is returned to you if they ever become lost or are stolen – and it is a legal requirement for all cats and dogs to be microchipped.
We’re happy to provide our own laboratory service in-house, with an extensive range of tests facilitated on-site. With quicker results, we have a better chance of quickly diagnosing and treating your pet, with potentially life-saving implications.
Both spaying and castration are routine procedures from which our pets generally recover swiftly and without complication. We recommend all pets that are not intended to be bred from are neutered, due to the societal, health and behavioural benefits.
Saying goodbye to a family pet is always a difficult and upsetting time, and if the decision needs to be made to put a pet to rest, it is never easy. We understand this and, as pet owners and animal lovers ourselves, empathise with every client who finds themselves in this situation.
Few things are as important for the short and long-term health of your pet as the food that you feed them. Every pet has different nutritional needs – and our team are here to help you to design a diet that will keep your pet healthy and happy.
We have a range of modern diagnostic equipment across our practices to help our vets to reach a speedy and accurate diagnosis – including being one of the only practices in the south east with our own CT.
We all love our pets but they can develop behavioural issues which can make it less enjoyable and sometimes stressful as an owner. We are here to help and guide you with a variety of techniques that will suit you and your pet.
We place great importance on our consultations. Simply put, the sooner we can see your pet in our practice for any concerns, the more likely we are to be able to keep it healthy for longer.
Dental disease is one of the conditions we treat most regularly. Our emphasis is on preventative dental care, so we offer advice on diets that promote good oral hygiene and dental care, with the focus on trying to limit further dental treatments.
