This November we’re taking part in a UK-wide antibiotics amnesty to help our clients to dispose of unused and out-of-date antibiotics as part of our wider commitment to preventing antimicrobial resistance – and we need your help.
Antimicrobial resistance is an increasing problem worldwide, as bacteria encounter antibiotics in the environment and develop defences against them, making medical treatment less effective for both humans and animals.
If antibiotics aren’t safely disposed of they end up in landfill, and from there filter into the environment.
We’re raising awareness of this issue in November, but we encourage you to always bring us unused or out-of-date antibiotics after your pet has completed their treatment.
That way, we can dispose of them safely, and together we’re helping to protect our planet, our pets and our futures.
